Every amount in this table is an estimateestimate, derived from the World Bank price level for Russia rather than quoted by any seller.

How this is calculated

A US baseline of 90, 210 and 450 USD a day for the three tiers is multiplied by the price level of Russia (0.31995132902712087, World Bank 2025) and by a city-size factor of 1.3, then rounded to the nearest 5 dollars. Local amounts use the World Bank exchange rate of 92.5524 RUB to the dollar, rounded to two significant digits.

These are modeled estimates, not quoted prices. Read the full formula on the methodology page.

Where the money goes

Across the three tiers, the extra money mostly buys better lodging and more restaurant meals rather than a completely different itinerary. The budget tier's $35 a day covers basic rooms, cheap meals, and public transport, the mid-range tier's $85 a day adds more comfortable lodging and restaurant dining, and the luxury tier's $185 a day allows for higher-end hotels and less budgeting around meals and taxis; over a week these add up to $245, $595, and $1,295.

The cheapest and quietest time to visit is the off-season stretch of October, November, and December, when lower demand tends to bring softer prices on lodging in particular. All figures here, including the cost items listed above, are estimates meant to give a general sense of spending rather than fixed prices.

Cheapest months by climate demand: Oct, Nov and Dec.
